We are a small family (John, Rachel, Liam & Becky) who (amongst other things) share a love of dogs. Rather ironic really – considering the fact that both John & Liam are allergic to dogs.
John first became involved with showing dogs in the late 1980s showing and breeding Shiba Inus and Tibetan Terriers under the kennel prefix of Kitsune.
However, several years ago, we came into contact with our first Field Spaniel – Australian Grand Champion Fieldspan Braveheart, and the love affair began.
Despite having decades associated with dogs, we were simply not ready to be won over by this beautiful breed in the manner that we were. Many people who own Field Spaniels have said that they could never envisage having another breed – that’s the effect that they had on us – and that is the effect that they STILL have on us.
From the moment we met our first ‘Fieldie’, we knew straight away that this breed was special. The exceedingly gentle and affectionate nature of this breed had an immediate impact on us. They still do!
Sadly, all of our Shibas & TTs have long passed away now, and our focus is solely on the development and promotion of this beautiful breed.
We live and show our dogs in Sydney (Australia), but often travel into country, regional and interstate areas. Dog shows are for us – a family affair and a great opportunity to spend time together as a family.
Our love of this breed is reflected in our success and we own the largest number of living Best In show and Best In Group winners in Australia, and are home to the ONLY Field Spaniel ever to have attained the title of Supreme Champion in the history of the breed – Australian Supreme Champion Fieldspan Jammie Dodger – aka Dodger. Dodger’s bloodlines are found throughout of dogs, and we are totally committed to the welfare and advancement of this wonderful breed. As such, all of our breeding stock are health tested, eye tested and are hip & elbow scored.
